An editorial narrative exploring identity and transformation through bold color, light, and intimacy.
This editorial explores a personal arc of identity—moving from vulnerability (Rebirth), through confrontation and tension (Revival), to self-acceptance and emotional clarity (Reflection). Inspired by themes of softness meeting strength, the concept leans into symbolic color use (red, white, and black) and textural contrasts to convey emotional metamorphosis.
My process began with a moodboard centered around duality: softness and sharpness, exposure and concealment, stillness and movement. I pulled references from cinematic lighting, reflective surfaces, and fashion editorials that evoke intimacy and power. Throughout the shoot, I used low-key lighting, reflective materials, and body-driven poses to create visual tension and storytelling without relying on overt narrative devices.
Every frame was composed with intention—from the layered blur and broken focus of Revival, to the direct gaze and mirror symbolism in Reflection. I wanted each section to feel distinct but emotionally connected, forming a visual meditation on self-reclamation.
